Founder Arms Defensive Pistol One is a four-hour course designed for beginners or returning shooters. This course provides students with the fundamental skills necessary to safely and confidently operate a handgun for defensive, training, or recreational purposes.

The curriculum is designed to be accessible to shooters of all experience levels while maintaining a manageable round count to maximize training value. Students will leave with a solid foundation upon which they can continue practicing independently or build through future Founder Arms courses. This course also serves as an excellent recurring training opportunity for those looking to develop, maintain, and refine essential pistol skills through regular practice.

The course begins in the classroom with introductions, administrative requirements, safety briefing, equipment inspection, and dry-fire exercises. Students will then transition to the live-fire range for practical application of the skills taught.

Required Equipment:

• Semi-automatic handgun chambered in 9mm, .45 ACP, .40 S&W, or .380 ACP
• Kydex OWB (Outside-the-Waistband) or IWB (Inside-the-Waistband) holster
• Three magazines minimum
• Method of carrying at least two spare magazines on your person
• Eye & Ear Protection
• Appropriate weather-appropriate range attire
• Minimum of 200 rounds of ammunition

• Duty/Battle Belt
• Two Spare Magazine Pouches
• Electronic Hearing Protection
• Water Bottle & Snacks
• Sunscreen and/or Bug Spray

Training is conducted rain or shine unless severe weather or unsafe conditions require modification or rescheduling.
